Steps:
Setup a well controlled sanctuary space.
Ignore the cat until they have eaten their first meal.
Establish which treats are valuable to the cat.
Begin the Reset with treats.
Phase 1
Goals:
Entice the cat to approach you.
Entice the cat to touch you.
Encourage the cat to play.
Steps:
Finger transport clicker training.
Reset with treats while inside the buffer zone/pen.
Cat crosses extended legs.
Play.
Cat stays on extended legs.
Phase 2
Goals:
Desensitize the cat to touch/petting.
Entice the cat to make close contact.
Careful observation of body language to maintain consent.
Steps:
Petting desensitization sequence.
Cat crosses crossed legs.
Cat stays on crossed legs.
Cat is pet on crossed legs.
Cat plays on crossed legs.
Phase 3
Goals:
Cat can be pet without a treat.
Cat exits the pen.
Cat can be approached from multiple heights & angles..
Steps:
Petting for reward desensitization sequence.
OR Treat withdrawl petting sequence.
Exiting & folding up the pen.
Approach sequence.
Opportunistic behavior training.

Progress clicker training, husbandry, cooperative care & enrichment throughout the process.

Paw touch to High5.
Sit.
